Entry into Spain
Spain Travel & Entry Requirements (schengenvisainfo.com)
When entering Spain, you will need to show the following documents, depending on your nationality:
- EU nationals: Valid passport or national ID card.
- Non-EU nationals who are visa-exempt: Valid passport or travel document.
- Non-EU nationals with visa requirements: Valid passport with a Schengen or a Spain national visa.
- Additionally, non-EU travelers showing up at the Spain port of entry may be asked to present the following documents in order to be allowed to enter Spain:
- Cash or documents that prove of sufficient funds for the entire stay in Spain.
- A round-trip ticket to Spain and back.
- Travel insurance coverage for the entire stay in Spain.
- Ensure that the Spain border officer stamps your passport if you are permitted to enter. Without a stamp, you could be fined or detained in Spain.
Embassy "Letter of Invitation"
During the online registration process, you will have the option to request an Embassy Letter. You will receive the letter via email 24-48 hours after you complete and pay for your registration. If you choose to pay by check, wire transfer or purchase order as your method of payment, you will receive an email notifying you to pay, with instructions on how to make your payment. Once payment is received, you will receive your letter via email in 24-48 hours.
In order to request an Embassy Letter, you will be required to submit the following information:
- Passport Expiration Date (MM/DD/YYYY)
- Country of Issue
If you have questions about an Embassy Letter you may contact events@pmi.org. PMI recommends that all Embassy Letter requests be made as early as possible due to the current processing schedule.
Note: Refunds due to being denied a visa will only be honored if PMI is notified of the denial no later than two weeks prior to the event start date.
